We’re Andrew and Karly, and caring for people is in our DNA. Between us we have led a college student life team, founded an anti-human trafficking non-profit, executed a people-first tech sales strategy, raised capital for a foster care ministry, and more. In all this work, it has become abundantly clear to us that caring for people and organizational success go hand in hand. The businesses that are all about people thrive. The businesses that sacrifice care stagnate.
Prior to his tech career, Andrew had a significant background in ministry, where he learned invaluable lessons about empathy, counseling, and drawing out the parts of a person’s heart and mind that not even they were yet aware of. Most hiring managers would assume those skills don’t translate to an efficiency driven environment like tech sales, where the goal is to get high-value contracts quickly. Nevertheless, Andrew succeeded at his company, because he knew how to empathetically enter his clients’ world in a way that made it safe for them open up about their needs and their resources in unprecedented ways.
Karly has seen similar stories unfold in her work in foster care donor relations. She recalls a moment where a one-time donor casually mentioned that her daughter was about to turn two years old. Karly sent an intentional birthday gift for the daughter, not because she expected anything in return, but just because she wanted them to feel seen and cared for. Her generosity was so unexpected that the donor quadrupled her giving, and shared the story with her family. Her mother and sister became donors as well–all because of Karly’s act of care.
We are passionate about helping businesses get unstuck, transform, and thrive, by seeing themselves as a part of a bigger story. This starts with leadership nurturing a passion for the good work they are doing as an organization, and inspiring their staff with that same passion. For organizations that operate like that, every customer interaction is filled with a sense of purpose, possibility, and excitement.
There is so much change ready to happen in our communities and cities, as businesses become focused on transformational mission. We can’t wait to join you in seeing your business’ grander story unfold.
